Marriage is a contact that is legal and with it forms a kinship. Some people marry because of the religion, others marry for obligations related to the family while others marry due to legal or economical issues. Whatever the reason is you married your husband divorce should be the last thing that you think about unless if abuse is involved.

In 1st Corinthians 7:39 it states: “A wife is bound by law as long as her husband lives; but if her husband dies, she is at liberty to be married to whom she wishes, only in the Lord.” These days that is a very tough challenge. It seems like everyone is breaking up and sometimes over stuff that could have been easily resolved by a Christian Counselor or Christian support groups. The reason why women should not leave their husband is because you are suppose to be faithful and honor him. It does not matter if he made you mad or if your feelings are hurt from a fight. Those are very hard things to deal with but the two of you should sit down, talk with each other and forgive one another. Look at the mistakes made and what caused the fight. Try to avoid those mistakes in the future. You can also only learn how to really let go if you forgive him. Tell him that you are sorry and actually mean it. Don’t go and say you are sorry when you are not. Jesus teaches us not only to love but to forgive. If we do not forgive it can lead into other things and cause anger which leads into sinning.

The only time a wife should consider leaving her husband is if he is emotionally or physically abusing her. The bible speaks out against a husband. In 1 Samuel chapter 18, David is running for his life because King Saul would try over and over to kill him so David fled for protection. If you are being abused first try and seek help and see if your husband will go to a marriage counselor. If not there are options out there such as a woman’s shelter or the police. Never feel that you have to stay with someone that is hitting you or doing damage to you emotionally. In Colossians 3:19 it states that husbands must love their wives and not be harsh with them.

In all things, remember that you still must forgive. In Ephesians 4:26 it states that you must not let the sun go down with anger in your heart regardless of what all has happened in your life. Being able to forgive someone is also very good for you health wise.
